Steel processing operator - Qld

Job summary

We require a motivated and mechanically minded individual who is looking to get into the workforce and is seeking a career in a fast paced manufacturing environment. Reporting directly to the Steel Processing Supervisor, you will be a self-motivated individual willing to take ownership of day-to-day activities for all steel processing functions as well as assisting supervisors and other staff members when required.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Operates Laser/Plasma/CNC Controlled Machine to cut required material to meet production demands
  • Operating forklift to move material within area
  • Reading and interpreting paperwork to match relevant jobs

To be successful for this role, you will ideally have:

  • Forklift license essential
  • Driver's licence and own reliable transport
  • Ability to work various shifts required by the business
  • Extensive experience using Plasma machine in a manufacturing environment
  • Understanding of Laser and Plasma functions
  • Physically fit to perform the physical requirements of the role
  • Ability to read drawings; job specifications / instructions
  • Component computer skills
  • Good interpersonal and Organisational skills
  • Highly motivated
  • Great attention to detail and quality control
